I find that I really love when I have no expectations before a dance performance. I didn’t know anything about Cincinnati Ballet when I went to photograph them at The Joyce Theater – I’ve never seen them before and didn’t know what to expect.

They just totally wowed me with their physicality, technical prowess, athleticism and overall gorgeousness of the dancers. They were fantastic and I loved photographing them.

The music for the first piece in Cincinnati Ballet’s show at The Joyce was by Peter Frampton, who has the #1 all time best-selling live album in the world.

I photographed him from five feet away while he was practicing his curtain speech and that was such a thrill.
