Why You Want A Creative Partner For Your Wedding Portraits & Film
What is a creative partner?
Being creative involves imagination and original ideas. Hiring someone who is truly creative for your special day means that photographer or planner or floral designer will treat your wedding like a work of art (because it is!)
Creative professionals are open and willing to collaborate. Creatives plan and have experience – creativity takes practice, too – but they can also go with the flow or adapt to your unique wedding needs. A practiced creative partner will pull from years of experience to capture your vision for your wedding in ways you might not have even imagined.
We work with many creative wedding professionals in the Berkshires & New York.
I have been fortunate in my 10+ years as a wedding photographer to meet many creative souls in the wedding industry.
From superb rentals for gorgeous tents and flatware to fire-roasted catering made on the premises for your wedding guests, I’ve seen amazing things at weddings!
I always encourage new couples to seek referrals from their venue, their wedding planner or their favorite vendor, because we all have worked with the best of the best in whatever style or budget you’re looking for.
Your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime work of art.
A huge reason why you should look for a creative partner for your wedding, in everything from design to planning to photography and film, is that you want your wedding to be a true representation of who you are as a couple.
(Just as you want your wedding photos to be a true representation of how the day looked and felt for you, your family and friends. When you look at the pictures, you want to feel like you’re there again!)
I believe weddings are like world premieres. When I photograph dance, I have to anticipate when the most climactic and special moments are about to happen, so I can capture them in a split second. Those split seconds hold the true essence of the dance, and they hold the true essence of your wedding, too.
I have photographed countless world premiere, first-time-ever performances at Jacob’s Pillow, in New York City and beyond. When I do this, I’m channeling all of my creativity and focus to create photos that represent the work the way the artist meant for it to be represented.
My team and I know each wedding we photograph and film is also a first-ever experience, with no second chances. No two weddings are the same, every couple has their own details that are special to them, and they want a true representation of their relationship with each other, their friends and their families.
Because we’re looking at your wedding as your world premiere, we are able to capture the emotion and what the special details mean without imposing our own agenda.
Hiring a creative for your wedding makes the planning process enjoyable instead of stressful.
Treating your wedding like a once in a lifetime event is just one aspect of how a creative professionaI brings a unique perspective to your wedding. I also think it’s a more relaxing experience for a couple to put their trust in a creative partner while planning their wedding day. The planning process can be stressful, but with a creative mindset, it also can be fun!
In my work as a wedding photographer, the fun comes in when we work together to make sure the photos of your wedding are unique to your relationship. I am always eager to share my experience, make suggestions and listen to your feedback to cover our bases before you get married.
If we have discussed everything ahead of time, you’re able to relax and enjoy the day with your guests. We can keep things flowing and honor new ideas that come up as we go, because we’ve already planned for it.
It’s really about trust – trusting you made the right choice in your creative partner, trusting that your wedding professional (planner, floral designer, caterer & more) will deliver all that you asked for.
