Though it’s not my primary focus, I really enjoy creating family portraits outside of the formal portraits I capture at weddings. This fall, there were several opportunities to work with really fun families. Two of my all-time favorite wedding clients now have beautiful children and contacted me for family photos. They’re just awesome, and it was great to reconnect with them for family portrait sessions.

Another buddy of mine and his family reached out, too, and so did my friend Shira, who started as a photographer on the same day I did. I photographed her family and she photographed mine. This fall we made family photos in Central Park, Astoria Park, Carl Schurz Park on the Upper East Side, and Long Beach in Long Island.
