Heather & Chris are wonderful, and photographing their wedding at The Arbors Events in North Carolina was a delight. They just recently moved to North Carolina where Chris is in military training. Heather knows my wife Nel from years ago – they taught Pilates together at a studio in Manhattan. We had several friends in common and it really set the tone for our relationship.
On our very first phone call to discuss wedding photography, we felt like we were a fit, which I love. Turns out that when I worked for a financial company in the mid-90s, Heather’s dad’s company was one of our clients, and he and I had spoken on the phone many times. It took us a while to realize, but we all felt connected right off the bat. That feeling means we’re going to make great pictures together. (See photos of their beautiful rehearsal dinner at Breezy Meadows Farm here.)
The wedding planner for Heather & Chris’s wedding was Josh Chalmers from Connecticut. He just brought a real sense of ease and calm to the wedding. He was really graceful and a sweet person – it seemed as important to him to have a fabulous event as it was to do good work in the world. It was his idea to carve their initials into a tree trunk to use as a wedding cake stand, and he did the carving himself! Just another way he added a special touch. I look forward to working with him again.
My second photographer for Heather & Chris’s wedding was local photographer Julia Laible. I met her through The Arbors, and she was terrific.
