Katie and James’ rehearsal dinner was held at Katie’s parents’ house in Great Barrington in the Berkshires. Katie’s parents, Elizabeth & Andrew, were such gracious and happy hosts. They just got their house a couple of years ago and were really excited about having people in their home. Elizabeth & Andrew love Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and all it has to offer, and that was a cool connection to discover.

The backyard was illuminated with warm and intimate lighting by Julie Seitel and the details for the dinner were designed by Emily Starr Alfano of mStarr Events & Design. When I heard that Emily was designing the event I knew every detail would be just right. I met Emily on the Berkshire Wedding Tour last November and have been excited about working with her. At Katie & James’ rehearsal dinner, she really nailed it. Nothing was missed or left undone. Every little detail was thoughtful. I was really blown away.

Fire Roasted Catering made the food for the rehearsal dinner. Katie & James love food and love cooking and the food was very important to them. I’ve worked with Fire Roasted Catering twice now (the other time at Lindsey & Lou’s wedding at their home.) Their set-up and method of cooking is incredible. It’s part spectacle and also amazing food. Let me just tell you this – Strawberry Rhubarb Pudding Cake. 

The next door neighbor has Scottish highland steer in their backyard. They were fun to photograph. 

It was a beautiful evening, and I’m happy I was there to photograph it for them.
