Meet Whitney Browne

Whitney Browne started working with Christopher Duggan Photography in 2011. She trained for years with legendary dance photographer Tom Carvaglia, and photographs movement and performance as well as weddings. Her work has an emphasis on documentation. She worked on a longterm project with Paul Taylor Dance, and her photos have been published in The New York Times, Huffington Post, Dance Magazine and New York Magazine. Whitney is excellent at putting couples at ease in front of the camera and has an eye for fixing that stray hair as well as capturing a quiet, private moment.

MEET Cherylynn Tsushima

Cherylynn Tsushima and I met when she was a photojournalism intern at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, and we’ve been working together ever since. She was born and raised in California and has degrees in journalism and dance from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. That journalism degree comes in handy when she tries to tell your story and capture in-the-moment action. Cherylynn has a quiet presence about her and a knack for making images that are insightful and surprising in an artistic and thoughtful way. Her photos have been published in The Huffington Post and Dance Magazine. Fun fact: Whitney and Cherylynn actually danced together at Whitney’s mom’s studio when they were kids.

To me, this photograph really encapsulates a moment when even though everyone is watching, it’s almost as if the bride and groom exist in their own world.
