Melissa & Ryan’s wedding was photographed by Karli Cadel on our creative team. Karli has been photographing weddings for our studio for a little over a year now and clients like the editorial feel to her images.
In addition to photographing weddings for Christopher Duggan Photography, Karli is a freelancer for The New York Times, and she is the festival photographer for the Glimmerglass Opera Festival in Cooperstown every summer. We’ve been photographing together since 2009 when we met at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival.
Melissa and Ryan’s wedding was held at the private Stamford, Connecticut, Dolphin Cove Club and was very intimate and incredibly meaningful. Their wedding party was super small and really close-knit – Melissa’s sister was her maid of honor and Ryan’s brother was his best man.
During cocktail hour Melissa & Ryan made it a point to interact with each and every guest. Some couples don’t make the time to spend a moment with everyone at the wedding, because the day goes by so quickly, and there’s so much to enjoy and take in. The presence of every guest at Melissa & Ryan’s wedding seemed to signify an important point in their lives, and they made it known.
Later in the night, both of their families made fantastic wedding toasts. There were so many special, emotional moments like these throughout the wedding, and it was wonderful to photograph.
By the end of the night the wedding reception was in full swing, and their friends really knew how to dance. Thank you, Karli, for making these beautiful wedding photos!
