I love working with brilliant artists who perform on the Pillow stages and teach in The School. Pillow artists I was able to collaborate with in creative portraits this summer include: Elisa Clark, James Whiteside and Cassandra Trenary, Catherine Cabeen, and Chloe Davis and Beatrice Capote.
Cancer touches us all. We all know someone, and more likely than not someone close to us, that has experienced cancer. It’s a wonderful thing to see the amazing dancers at the 2016 Dance Against Cancer event being so generous to give this awesome performance in the spirit of finding a cure.
Ailey students are getting some of the very best training and pre-professional dance experience. I photograph students of The School at Jacob’s Pillow every summer (many of whom come from the Ailey School) and it’s incredible to see how hard these dancers work in the studio to appear so effortless on stage.
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater hosts gorgeous and energetic galas at New York City Center every year. This season, the always-incredible dancers performed Ohad Naharin’s Minus 16, pulling audience members on stage — and the crowd went wild for the honorary dancers!
