Last week, I photographed Dance Against Cancer’s 2017 performance. This was the charity’s 7th Annual Event. I have photographed this event several times now, and every time I do, I am deeply humbled and full of gratitude to work with such kind-hearted people.
Cancer touches us all. We all know someone, and more likely than not someone close to us, that has experienced cancer. It’s a wonderful thing to see the amazing dancers at the 2016 Dance Against Cancer event being so generous to give this awesome performance in the spirit of finding a cure.
The companies performing in the Ted Shawn Theatre and the Doris Duke Theatre have their dress rehearsals every Wednesday afternoon during Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. They happen between 2pm and 5pm, and they often overlap. These dress rehearsals are my only time to photograph the companies to make images for the press to use.
It’s great to have Daniel Ulbricht & his star ballet friends back at Jacob’s Pillow. Rebecca Krohn and Tyler Angle are back this summer, too. For the second year in a row, Daniel’s show is fantastic, and these artists are performing beautiful works. I was able to photograph the first piece live during performance, and all of the other dances during dress rehearsal.
