Every summer, my wife, dance videographer Nel Shelby, and I move back into our cabin in the Berkshires to spend the summer photographing and filming the incredible artists who perform at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. The festival runs for 10 weeks and each week includes 2 new mainstage dance performances and 4 free outdoor performances.

Ballet BC is at the Ted Shawn Theatre during opening week at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, and I am photographing them for the second time. They performed one piece in costume during the dress rehearsal I photographed, and it showcased the sheer intensity of the company’s dancers.
