Wedding Planning During A Pandemic | How To Make The Most Of Plan B

I distinctly remember my very first call with Becky.

From the beginning, she had a very clear vision of what she wanted her wedding day to look like. As soon as we started talking, I was really excited to be her photographer.

Becky and her husband Blake were married at the Onteora Mountain House, a beautiful venue in Catskill State Park, about 100 miles north of New York City. Their dream wedding was reimagined for COVID-19 – every detail Becky had originally planned had to be altered. The couple even moved from their original venue!

To modify every aspect of a wedding to abide by social distancing protocols due to a pandemic is challenging, but Becky was a rockstar. She did it! She planned a whole new wedding in just about 8 weeks.

“I encourage any couple going through this to stick it out, find your balance, and really figure out what you want out of your big day. It IS a big day. It doesn’t matter how many people are there. It’s still a big day.” – Becky

Becky was kind enough to sit down with me for a quick interview knowing that her particular story could perhaps provide some comfort and inspiration for other couples who may be planning their weddings right now.

Things are changing quickly, and changing your wedding plans while timing is tight is not only difficult, but extremely stressful. In our interview, Becky shares how she revamped her wedding day while still keeping the essence of her original vision. She handled this curveball with such grace – I’m still so impressed!
